Each month, we analyse key data from the previous month’s concessionary products and the Category M/A tariff, to create our ‘Beyond the Headlines’ overview.

This handy summary reports on:

• The total number of concessions last month.
• The number of increases/decreases vs last month and the previous year.
• Concession changes since last month, including price increases/decreases and additions/removals.
• Product value at tariff and concession.
• Average reimbursement price including concessionary pricing.
• Monthly generics medicines tariff value including concessions, and how that has varied vs the previous month/year.

Following the January change in tariff (you can read more about that on our Category M page), our calculations show a decrease in value at tariff and concession of almost 6% compared to December.

There has also been fluctuation in the list of published concessions.
